Local Scholarships Application

1.   Make sure you have opened a copy of this scholarship application
2. The following document contains a list of the local scholarships for which you may apply.  Check the number of        each scholarship you are applying for.
3.    Fill all pages out completely.  This single application is used for each of the scholarships. 
4.    The application MUST BE typed. 
5.    Proofread your application ~ Have a parent proofread ~ Use spell check
6.    Once you complete the application, you must turn in a hard copy into the High School Office.
7.    Applications are due in the High School Office by 3:00 pm on Wednesday, March 13, 2024.

No late applications will accepted!

Please check with Ms. Metzger on your ACT, GPA and Class Rank, before turning in your application.

If you are not sure about your attendance, Ms. Metzger can pull this information for you. 

Local Scholarship Application:
West Unity Area Foundation:
 Area Foundation scholarships are now live on the site linked below. 
     Scroll down to the High School Section and find Hilltop High School

County Wide scholarships are also available on the link below. These can be found by scrolling further down the page.
In order to be eligible for County Wide scholarships, students must complete the correct application.

Need Based Scholarships will be determined from the school specific application. 

All scholarships are due to the Hilltop Guidance office by Friday February 23rd. 

NEED-BASED SCHOLARSHIPS: If you would like to be considered for need-based scholarships through the Bryan Area Foundation, you must provide your Student Aid Index (SAI) on the scholarship applications. Given the FAFSA update, we anticipate delays in receiving this figure from the Federal Government by the time the students apply for scholarships.

 If you have your SAI amount, mark it on your scholarship application(s) in the “Financial Need Information Section.”

 If you do not yet have the SAI amount, but wish to be considered for need-based scholarships, please have them mark “haven’t received yet.” Once you receive your SAI amount, please send this information to Ms. Metzger.

OTA Scholarship
The OTA will be awarding up to five high school seniors with a $1,500.00 scholarship for their future education.

Scholarship applications will run from September 1st-January 31st, 2024.

The OTA has 3 different scholarships available,
Academic Achievement (2): for students who excel academically. To qualify, a student must have a cumulative B average and at least a 22 ACT or 1000 SAT. 

Local Government Achievement (2): for a student who demonstrates outstanding citizenship through service and participation in community activities.

Trade School Scholarship (1): for an excellent student who is choosing to attend a vocational or trade school. To qualify, a student must have a cumulative B average and complete the scholarship questionnaire.

Best Art Scholarships:
Please check out the link below for available scholarships for those who are interested in pursuing an art major. 
Some of the scholarship's listed are open to students who are not planning to pursue an art major.
All scholarships listed have a different application deadline. The earliest deadline is December 31st.

North Western Electric Scholarship:
Each individual scholarship has its own link for the pdf file containing the instructions, rules and application.  Please  read and follow the instructions carefully to avoid delay or rejection of acceptance into the contest.  ALL applications must be submitted by 4 p.m. on Friday, February 9, 2024. The students may apply for any/all scholarships that apply to their situation.

4-H Related Scholarships: 
The complete list of our Williams County 4-H scholarships can be found at the bottom of this page linked below. The main 4-H scholarship is the  Williams County 4-H Endowment Scholarship which is due January 15, 2024.

Grand Lodge/Masonic Scholarship: 
This year the Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of Ohio is sponsoring three $1500
scholarships, awarded to 3 graduating seniors in each of the 25 Masonic Districts in the state.

The application materials, which are attached, must be completed and returned along with the required essay and letter of recommendation by March 1, 2023 either electronically to [email protected] or via USPS to:

Bryan Area Business Women's Scholarship:
AMOUNT: The scholarship is in the amount of $500.00 (five hundred
and no/00 dollars). The scholarship shall be payable directly to the
college, university, or school of the recipients choice.

SELECTION: The selection of recipient for the scholarship shall be
determined by the following criteria:
1. School/Community contributions or activities.
2. A minimum grade point average of 2.75 is required.
3. Career goals. Applications shall be evaluated and final selection will
be made by the Bryan Area Business Women’s Scholarship Committee
or impartial individuals.

ELIGIBILITY: Any high school senior residing in the Bryan Area, who
is entering a program of higher education this summer or fall
immediately following graduation, is eligible. Preference will be given
to a graduate of a Bryan Area Business Women’s Club member. Choice
of vocation is not a factor. Applicant must attend at least a two-year

APPLICATION: Applications should be made to the Scholarship
Committee through the Applicant’s High School Counseling
Department on the form provided by the Bryan Area Business Women’s
Club. Applications should be submitted to the High School Counselor.

Scholarship is due to the Hilltop Guidance office by March 31st, 2024

Application must be completed electronically. Do not hand write answers onto the application. 

Williams County Pork Producers Scholarship:
$500.00 scholarship

Scholarship applications must be postmarked by March 31st, 2024

1. Applicants must be a graduating senior, of the current academic year, from a Williams County School.
2. Applicants must apply, be accepted and planning to attend a college or technical school.
3. Recipients must complete their first term and receive a minimum of a 2.25 grade point average or better or
forfeit the scholarship. Payment of the scholarship will be made in time for the second term provided
grades are received at the address * listed above.
4. Applications must be typed. Application forms are available through your local school guidance office.
5. An interview may be requested after the applications have been reviewed.

ACME Baseball Scholarship:
Application Deadline is February 15th
$500.00 Scholarship


1) Must have played at least one year of Varsity ACME Baseball

2) Applicant must have a cumulative G.P.A. of 2.5 or greater (on a 4.0 Scale)

3) Applicant’s official high school transcript (through 7th semester) must be enclosed

Ohio Natural Energy Foundation Scholarship:
Applicant Criteria
Must be US Citizen
Must have a career goal in the natural gas and oil industry.
Must be an Ohio resident or a student attending or planning to attend an accredited Ohio College, university, technical or trade school.
Must have and maintain a GPA of 2.5 or higher.

Application deadline is March 1st, 2024

Bright Lights Scholarship:
  • Eligibility: Any high school or undergraduate student who is an underrepresented minority and/or a first-generation college student may apply for this scholarship.
  • Amount: $1,100
  • Winners: 2 winners, $550 each
  • Application Deadline: Feb 15, 2024

Mikey Taylor Memorial Scholarship:

  • Any first generation undergraduate students and high schoolers who have overcome mental health challenges are eligible to apply to this scholarship.
  • : $1,000
  • : 2 winners, $500 each
  • : May 11, 2024

Zonta Scholarship:
Scholarship deadline is Friday March 1st, 2024.

Women, aged 16-19 on 1 April each year, studying at a secondary school, college or university in a Zonta district/region, or who are studying elsewhere but are citizens of a Zonta country, who demonstrate evidence of the following, are eligible to apply. 

Active commitment to volunteerism.
Experience in local government, student government, or workplace leadership (paid or unpaid).
Volunteer leadership achievements.
Knowledge of Zonta International and its programs.
Support in Zonta International's mission of building a better world for women and girls.
Applicants from geographic areas within a Zonta district/region where no clubs are located may apply via a Zonta e-club or directly to the district to be eligible for the international awards. Previous district and international Young Women in Public Affairs Award recipients are not eligible to apply to renew the Award for a second year.

Club members and individuals with direct membership with Zonta International and employees of Zonta International and Zonta Foundation for Women, and their family members (ancestors, descendants, adoptees, siblings, nieces or cousins, and those of their spouse or co-habiting partner), are not eligible to apply for the Awards.

Moser Nursing Scholarship:
Scholarship will be granted to a student who aspires to become a licensed practical nurse or registered nurse.
1,000.00 scholarship will be paid to the chosen school.

Applicants must have notification of acceptance from the school where they plan to enroll prior to consideration for the scholarship. 

Each application must include:
*A three paragraph summary explaining why you would like to enter the field of nursing, and why you desire this scholarship.
*A transcript of your high school grades.
*Two letters of recommendation.
*Completed application.

All components of the application must be postmarked by March 31st, 2024.

The University of Toledo: The Herb Scholars Program:
This award constitutes a full-ride scholarship for a deserving student for their entire four-year experience.

The deadline for students to apply for The Herb Scholars Program is February 1, 2024.

The University of Toledo Herb Scholars Program, the most prestigious scholarship awarded by the Judith Herb College of Education, honors Judith Herb and her family. Herb Scholars throughout their academic experience will be invited to participate in activities that will deepen their leadership skills and offer opportunities for undergraduate research in areas of education.

The Herb Scholarship Program is valued at full-time, in-state undergraduate tuition and general fees (up to 18 hours per semester), room and board for up to eight semesters of undergraduate enrollment.  The scholarship is renewable, subject to scholarship policies and requirements and continued progress in an education major.  The projected value of this scholarship is $100,000.

Selection criteria for the Herb Scholars Program includes…

  • ACT/SAT test scores
  • High school GPA
  • High school transcript
  • Resume
  • Completed scholarship application
  • Essay and letters of recommendation
  • A completed application for admission to The University of Toledo in the Judith Herb College of Education. 

Application requirements include…

  • Applicants must be entering first-year students in their high school graduating class of 2024. 
  • Minimum requirements to apply include a high school cumulative GPA of 3.4 and a 21 ACT composite or 980 SAT combined reading and math score (from a single test date). 
  • Eligible candidates must pursue a degree in the field of education.

Farm Bureau Scholarship:
500.00 Scholarship

Applications are due by April 1st, 2024

1. Applicants must be a child of a CURRENT Defiance, Fulton, Henry, or Williams
County Farm Bureau Member.
2. Must be a 2024 graduating high school senior.
3. Applicants must apply, be accepted, and plan to attend a college or technical school in the
fall of 2024.
4. Applicants majoring in Agriculture and/or Science areas will have first preference.
However, all applications will be reviewed.
5. Applicants must complete the first term in college and receive at least a 2.25 Grade Point
Average or better or forfeit the scholarship. Payment of the scholarship will be made in
time for second term provided grades are received at the Farm Bureau Office in
reasonable time.
6. Application should be typed. An application can be found on our county websites:

The Ability Center-College Scholarship:
Total will be approximately $15,000.

Eligibility Requirements:
*Be an individual with a disability.
*Be currently enrolled in a post-secondary program. (High School Seniors must have proof of acceptance, and new graduate students must have proof of acceptance to a graduate program).
*Have a permanent address in Lucas, Wood, Fulton, Henry, Ottawa, Defiance, Williams counties in Ohio, or Monroe or Lenawee counties in Michigan.
*Have a 3.0 GPA

Applications are due by March 31, 2024. The application includes writing a short essay and providing three references.
